Imperium was dope out of the box though. The squad mechanic is awesome, and its extremely useful in the late game.This leads to more efficiency and speed as you spend more. Budget decks will always have more synergy than a precon. Precons are made to function with all 3 possible commanders, so they lose synergy with all of them. Even a 30 dollar [ [Marneus Calgar]] list will probably be better than the precon.

The Dr. Who precons are pretty strong out of the box and fun to play. A lot of reasonable value reprints in them as well. Not the 50 dollar per card kind but 2-5 dollars. So playable yet not bonkers staples.
